The San Francisco Urban Adventure Trip was a very memorable trip. We started this most excellent trip with an hour-long drive from Warm Springs Elementary School. However, once we arrived at Fort Mason, the hostel we were staying at, we grabbed some snacks and split into our patrols. Each patrol leader reached into a hat to choose one of the seven fun and unique bus lines to explore. After receiving a packet with information about the possible locations to explore along the line, each patrol huddled in a group to discuss where they wanted to go on their route and how to spend the $20 allotted to each scout.

Now having decided their adventure, each patrol walked to the nearest bus stop on their line for transportation to their first locations.

Every patrol was able to visit many interesting places scattered throughout San Francisco, including the Golden Gate Bridge, the Palace of Fine Arts, and Chinatown. In fact, patrols even saw Civil War reenactments at Fort Point!

After exploring San Francisco for a few hours, the scouts spent a portion of their $20 for lunch at places that varied from a pizzeria to Subway.

After lunch, the patrols had more freedom to choose where to go. Some patrols chose to leave their line to explore interesting locations not near their bus line. However, after a fun day of exploring San Francisco, we returned to Fort Mason for dinner.

The patrols went back to Fort Mason in the afternoon.

Since each patrol were assigned a different duty based on when they arrived back at Fort Mason, some patrols relaxed while others were cooking, and other patrols relaxed as some patrols cleaned up after dinner.

After dinner, we had several options of what to do until lights out. One group stayed at Fort Mason to play Dungeons and Dragons and other board games, while another group left on a night hike through San Francisco. The final group did geocaching in San Francisco.

The next day, we packed up, ate breakfast, and took a group photo to commemorate this amazing trip before driving back to Fremont.
