Troop 103 again ran a parking lot at the Niles Antique Faire and Flea Market on the 30th. This is our major fund raising activity of the year and everyone always pitches in to make it a successful event. This year was no exception–long hours, but a a great bunch of scouts and scouters made the time go fast. We finished up the day by joining Troops 132 and 176 in sweeping up the streets in the Niles District. A very successful weekend of work.

A group of scouts and family members were guests of our sponsor, the Warm Springs Rotary Club, at the Oakland A’s game vs the Tigers on Saturday the 22nd. We had a BBQ prior to the game and watched the A’s win. Troop 103 took part in presenting the colors for the National Anthem (Troop 103 on the left is ‘uniformly uniformed’ and looked sharp). As a bonus, because the A’s scored 7 runs, everyone could redeem their ticket stub for a mini-pizza at Roundtable.

Six scouts attended an optional second week of summer camp at Camp Royaneh. A total of 23 merit badges were earned as well as other awards. The group did the infamous Carin Hike at night after the scouts cajoled ASM Dubro to lead the way.
