Fourteen scouts made the trip to the Pinnacles National Monument on March 21-23. This was the first campout and hike for many new scouts. While hiking to the top of Scout Peak a side detour was made through the Balconies Caves. Although some were tired and sore, everyone successfully completed the hike–seven scouts even made the 10 mile trek with full packs in preparation for next months 20 mile hike. In addition to completing this part of the Rim of the Bay Hike series, a snipe hunt was also held. It was reported that one snipe was successfully captured but not before it attacked our SPL. 🙂

On the 6th, six Webelos Scouts from Pack 199 completed their life as Cub Scouts and bridged to Troop 103. Welcome to the troop.

The Klondike Derby was held on March 7-9 with 12 scouts from the troop in attendance. Details on the Indian stories and the third place finish in several events were not provided.
