On November 22-24 the Troop went to Chesebrough Scout Reservation in the Santa Cruz Mountains for their monthly outing. The Scouts all tried their hand at hitting a small orange off a bail or hay using their archery skills. The best shot was Joseph with a arrow right down the center. Although a light rain was present for part of the weekend, it was reported that a good time was had by all.
Troop 103 was again active in the Scouting For Food program. The Scouts collected 1000 cans, 201 dry packages, and 36 glass containers of food–all of the food collected goes to local food banks for distribution during the holidays. Great job! Thanks to everyone who participated.
Friday November 8th was our Second Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction. Spin-A-Yarn restaurant graciously donated the spaghetti, salad, and garlic bread. The scouts served dinner to our guests as the guests eagerly awaited the results of the silent auction. Some items were in such demand that our auctioneer, Dr. Robert Dubro, had to actually have a live auction to satisfy the demand for these gastronomical delights–seems that a couple of active bidders love their chocolate!
